Like you, Ginny believes illegal immigrants should not receive the same status as American citizens.  While she does not feel we should shut out those individuals seeking a better life for themselves and their families, there should be sufficient checks in place to ensure our immigration system is controlled, our borders are secure, and those who come here do so legally.  Those who are in the country illegally should not be afforded the privileges of being here legally.

The Department of Homeland Security has been given the important responsibility of protecting our nation’s borders and enforcing our nation’s immigration laws.  In addition, the entire federal government is working to ensure that our U.S. immigration and refugee policy is in our nation’s economic and security interests.

Ginny strongly believes in the need to protect our nation’s borders from those who would enter illegally with the intent to do America harm.  In addition, we need to discourage individuals from coming to the United States if they are unable to contribute economically to our society.  Rest assured, as a member of the Homeland Security Committee, Ginny will continue to monitor our immigration policy and work toward keeping our borders safe and secure.
